Do we really know how to change behavior? Dr. David Hill believes there is insufficient evidence for a one-size-fits-all solution to changing behaviors related to cancer screening and tobacco use. Watch or listen to Dr. Judith Mackay of the World Health Organization and others as they announce the release of two new publications: the Cancer Atlas and the second edition of the Tobacco Atlas. The new Cancer Atlas shows the global burden of cancer is not only increasing, but it is shifting from the developed to the developing world. In addition, the Atlas reveals the risk of getting cancer in the developed world is greater, yet cancers in the developing world can be more fatal. The Tobacco Atlas reveals that 100 million peopled died from tobacco use in the 20th century, and if current trends continue, tobacco will kill 1 billion in the next century.
